The Faculty Council of the Faculty of Mechanical and Process Engineering elected new deans in November 2019. The new deans have taken office on 1 February 2020.
For the first time at the faculty, a team of three deans share responsibilities: Dean Prof. Dr.-Ing. Matthias Neef, Vice Dean Prof. Dr.-Ing. Maren Heinemann (finances) and Vice Dean Prof. Dr.-Ing. habil. Martin Ruess (dean of studies).
The new team has taken over from previous Dean Prof. Dr.-Ing. Walter Müller and previous Vice Dean Prof. Dr.-Ing. Andreas Jahr whose term of office ended regularly at the end of January.
The dean’s offices are the governing bodies of the individual faculties and represent the faculties within HSD. Their tasks include coordination of course provision and the organisation of studies, examinations and course evaluations. Members of the dean's offices are usually elected for a period of four years.
