In early December, our Global Support Function Research & Development hosted a delegation of 15 visitors from FMDauto (Institute for Product Development and Innovation, Hochschule Düsseldorf — University of Applied Sciences), with whom we maintain a long-standing partnership on joint projects and student theses.
For their annual excursion, directors, staff and students travelled to the SMS Campus in Mönchengladbach to learn about the work of a global plant engineering and construction company such as SMS group. With a focus on hydrogen technologies and green steel, we were particularly pleased that the Annealing and Galvanizing Line for the Stegra project was undergoing testing at our Test Center during their visit — allowing us to demonstrate live commissioning and testing activities. A tour of our Materials Lab and a demonstration of the Digital Classroom provided further insight into our daily operations and room for Q&A.
